Re:
forum contributions, what is the difference between a reply and a follow-up?
Or doesn't it matter which way we define our responses?

OK I'll try this one - someone will soon sort me out if I get it wrong.
A reply falls in sequence after other 'replies'
A followup is appended directly below a reply - or the original post. I am of the understanding that this method allows you to directly respond to one of the contributors.
Have a gander at a few of the other threads and you will soon get the gist of it.
Enjoy the
forum - it just keeps on gettin' better IMHO
And in response to your next question - look up 'abbreviations' somewhere on the page...
All the best - regards
Phil

"This is a follow up" Abbreviations are at the bottom of the page in line with the "alert moderator" button. Cheers,Bob

Hi Richard,
Often it doesn't really matter, but there are some who get a bit tetchy if they think you have hijacked their follow-up.
In general, use reply to respond directly to whoever posted the thread. Use follow-up if you want to comment on something raised in a reply.
Cheers,
Val
