Well done everyone, its great to be part of a growing and thriving community as we have here. First EO National gathering for me this year that I am almost 100% sure I can get to. Just hope that lots of new members get the chance to meet and greet other members, its a great thing about this place!!

Well done to all.

So much for those predicting the demise. The institution is bigger than the individual.

Yep, as I expected. Once the snipers disappeared (or were driven away) EO became a more welcoming place with more meaningful interchange.

Oh the snipers haven't gone just yet Jim. This one from a member today.
"Nice to see that the original poster couldn't be bothered to reply after many people gave many in-depth replies..... Makes those of us who bother to give decent and in-depth replies really wonder if it's worth our time (and our money to renew our memberships!)"
Large member numbers are not important if the quality of the replies & followups on the site decline. The robust discussions & debates are long gone as often can be seen by just a handfull of replies at times, some of which are plain wrong & not even challenged. Have a look at TrekFuel as another example with little or no added data for years. (Outdated info can be worse than no data at all)
The challenge now will be to refresh the old & inspire a few of the new 2800 members to contribute as much as many of those snipers did from the bad old days.
Cheers Craig.....................

Hi Bonz,

We are almost sure we will be attending the gathering this year and it will be our first as well so it looks as though we will meet you there.

I met a couple of other members while we were inTassie in Jan/Feb and we really enjoyed their company. Good to put faces to names at last.
It is a great group to be part of.

Regards,

Heather

Big smiles. D & M must be doing something right. Three thousand soon I reckon.

Cheers. Mick

Hi Mick O,
It's not just D & M doing something right. It's people like yourself who take the time to answer our questions and give freely of your experience that i chose to recently join. Thank you all.
Cheers Bruce
