to smell oil you probally will have an oil leak,
check for one... also did you change the air filter away from the original setup, meaning is the "k&N" just the brand or have you fitted a "off road" or "hi-flow" or something different from the original set up...
Cheers
Joe

Before you get too carried away, look under your vehicle &
check that no grease is being thrown from the tailshaft slide or uni joints onto the exhaust. This is a common problem with the 200 Series Cruiser after a dealership service.

everything seems to be fine under it aye iv washed under it there isnt any leaks or anything go for a long drive a get a massive headaque even with air con on both fresh and recycle and off too window down smell is worse the airfliter is just a drop in replacement panel filter at first i thought my after market "BE exhaust might be leaking" but nothing it is chipped too at first i thought it could be the injectors but nothin could it be the turbo housing ??

yes the past was the past was found to be the dealer that stuffed my car blocking my breathers very very very smart thing to do now not longer going to that dealership and i changed the UNIflow filter due to how hard it was to get it in and out to clean it the K&N airfliter is alot betta and its not just me that has had issues with the colorado clutch etc good to see when you google 2012 holden colorado they are bringing out a new one just hope they uses betta parts and
test them more then what they do now.

Shaneo86 - It would have to be burning oil - If the mechanic is not real good this model will trap oil on the front pan and around the diff - As you drive wind will blow some on to the exhaust and burn off - I would look under the filter area to make sure there is no oil for sure.
If that is not the problem the other thing is that the tailshaft uni's can be overgreased and as you drive they throw off the access. this hits the exhaust and takes some time to burn off.
Look under the car at the uni's = if they are over greased you will see grease thrown up under the car as
well.
Other than that - Keep looking you will find oil somewhere :-)
Cheers Tony

hi shane
you seem to have a lot of problems with that colorado
my thoughts on the oil smell
is possibly thevalve rocker cover gasket could be leaking and the oil is running down onto the exhaust manifold hence the constant smell of burning oil
cheers
