Landy,
I don't know! Larry Perkins came over last year with his Severly modified mobile
home based on a Unimog, this thing was huge! It had a Kenworth cab & the body was built by his V8 supercar workshop, I think it cost something like 1/2 a million biguns!!
Lovely bloke by the way!

Wait'll you see what Larry's got planned for the beast next. Some big improvements to the power plant! Damn thing should fly! I'm happy with the Tojo. It's cost me damn near as much lol.

Those racing trucks in the Dakar rally still seem to be able to smash through the heavy stuff but in the dunes of
the desert they get bogged pretty easily if they wash too much speed off

It's the same as with other vehicles, use the correct tyre pressures & they will have little problem getting across.
But get one bogged & you'll need more than Max Trax to get you out!

This is a couple of biggies I met at The
Lone Gum Tree a couple of years agoImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be Found
Had been following them for a day or so & could see the troubles they were having. At that stage they were thinking of turning back (west).

They all made it OK.
They did have more than their share of tyre troubles though.
Cheers,

One was a British Thornycroft? from memory can't remember what the other one was.
We've had all sorts of weird & wonderful contraptions come through here, DENR does recommend that trailers & motorhomes aren't taken across the Simpson.
