Has anyone had any experience with Outback Campers (WA) Goanna Cabana hard floor camper? Had a look at one, they look very similar to a Campomatic but lots cheaper (around 25K). They bring them in from China. They look quite sturdy, we are planning a trip which will include plenty of off road so want to be sure.

It may be an old saying but..."you get what you pay for." I spent 12 months before buying a camper before settling on a CUB Supamatic with continental pack. I don't intend to go heavy 4 wheel driving and it gets me where I want to go. Chinese steel rusts from the inside and by the time you find out it's too late. Resale value drops dramatically. A friend brought a chinese brand for $6,800 three years ago. The zippers lasted 15 months before they broke. Rust spots appeared after 2 years, the canvas stared to get thin and he sold it for $1,900 in January, 2011, with the words..."never again." One more thing...if they give a warranty, ask them where you take it for repair and then look at the blank stare.

Cheers Tombstone. All the research I do comes back to the same thing. We've decided to go with one of the better known brands to be on the safe side.
