Olsen's 4WD Tours and Training
After some delays misunderstandings, I've finally been able to renew my
membership. The rain and cyclones have kept things quiet, but hoping for a spectacular Simpson and
Hay River Trip this year. I will post some photos in my blog from last year. Was wall to wall flowers.
Glad to be back.

Hi Wim
Been meaning to call you for ages, after your hasty departure from Jervois. Hope all is
well. I suffered some illness after returning from last year's season and that put a stop to some things including catching up with you.
Still keen to do that Stock Route we spoke of?- maybe not til it dries out.

Take your boat :-)
But best of luck, it sounds like a lot of water still out there
Cheers Tony

I got an email from Don Rowlinson this morning saying
G’Day David
At this time I don’t think the
Eyre creek crossing will open and be safe for crossing until end of June or even early July this is only an approximate estimation, call/email me again in a couple of weeks. At the moment we can’t even get to Big Red because of un-precedented rain and levels of water between
Birdsville and Big Red.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance
Regards Don
So we have postponed until August, so won;t need the boat I hope.

No it looks like a number plate to me.
....seriously. I was a very active member of this
forum and a contributor to this site for a long time. Due to some misunderstandings, my
membership lapsed. I was merely telling my friends on here that I was back.

your post I meant ........ misunderstandings are the bane of our existence, we rarely read what we see and mean what we write but we sure react to what we think and we live to rue the day, far too often

David, on our way through
Townsville last year we drove to Hervey Range, had lunch at the delightful
Heritage Tea House and walked to Mason's
Lookout. When I saw the wheel tracks heading into the old rail tunnel I said to my wife that it looked like 4WDs went through.
Since returning
home I find that you do short tag a longs there and wished I had known sooner. You are in my diary for next time. The area is worth another visit anyway.

Hi Kevin
Yes we do tours of the area and include lots of
Townsville and NQ history.
We are working on passenger tours there as
well.
We are no longer permitted vehicle access to the tunnels due to instability but you can still view them.
