The pajero I just bought doesn't have a tow bar fitted, so what is the best way to go:
- Mitsubishi original equip.
or
- after market.
Thoughts please.
Cheers mike

Mike
If it's under warranty best to
check with the dealer and get a written statement that it won't void the warranty if a tow bar is fitted.
If its not a new car then go for an Australian made bar.

Hi Mike, I will assume the Pajero is new. There is a hell of a lot of speculation regarding other equipment manufacturers & original equipment. I think Hayman Reece but there are probably others on this
forum who prefer something else. If you go to the pajero club of victoria web site there is a fair bit of descussion about it & also anything else you may wish to enquire about. Just like this
forum many people only to willing to help. Regards & great choice of vehicle!!

If it's the latest version, ask the dealer about the fitting to raise the spare wheel. They have a fitting that lifts the spare wheel about 100mm. Otherwise it gets in the way of the tow hitch.

Hi Mike,
back in 06 the dealer wanted a bit over $700 to fit a tow bar, i went after market and saved a bucket full of $$ .
My mate bought a 2nd hand 05 from same dealer & reqested bar fitted which later discovered was also aftermarket .
cheers Bruce.
ps this was / is
Brisbane northside dealer

Hi Onemore - keep in mind that the 'standard Mitsi bar is only legal to 135kg - but their 'weight distribution' bar (Hitch receiver - whatever it is that fits under the vehicle) is good for 250kg - on my 2004 model - could be greater these days.

We have a 2007 Pajero bought new, have had a TJM towbar fitted, but unfortunately can't be used with a winch, but there also appears no where on the Paj to anchor a winch anyway.
We are happy with the tow bar we have and have been as far as
Cape York and no problems.
cheers
