Hi all, Sometime ago there was discussion on the
forum about fold up camping/caravan steps. There is a fold up stool/step on sale at Aldi stores for $6. It is the type featured in e-bay & other outlets however this one has a load rating up to 150 Kg. Some of the fold up steps are only for children to use as a stool or step. Unless it has a load rating be very careful as they can break causing nasty injuries. Monty.

Don't believe the load rating on the Aldi stuff. I bought 3 of them and I weigh 110kg and have squashed two of them - the other has not been used. Aldi was not interested when I bought the issue to their attention.
I was tempted to take the problem with relevant authorities but was going to be too much hassle.
I would say their max load rating is about 100kg with a safe load of only about 80kg.

Hi Garry, not related to this topic but related to Aldi.
We recently had a problem with some batteries purchased from Aldi which among other things were installed in a small portable radio. The ones in the radio leaked & as a result stuffed the radio.
We brought the problem to the attention of our local Aldi store who promptly refunded us the cost of the batteries. They asked us the value of the radio ($70.00) & a couple of weeks later we received a $70.00 voucher from them by way of compensation.
We also received a phone call from the area Manager and one from their customer service people at their head office apologising for the inconvenience caused.
So it is a shame that you experienced this poor customer service from them as our experience was totally the opposite. Cheers

that is pretty good of them barry. Alot of companies will just fob you away.
I had a similar experience when a ipod waterproof case leaked while swimming and broke my ipod classic.
Apple came to the party and refunded teh case and replaced the ipod.

we have been on the
lookout for a good step for our van and couldn't find the right thing until last week, the people camped opposite us had just what we were looking for it was an aerobics step, they are wide and long, low to the ground and have adjustable heights as most of them have extra leg height parts or platform heights and they also have a shock absorber in them and are even cheaper than caravan type steps, big W or Kmart have them for around $20 from what i've been told, but don't buy them from a sports store as they are a lot dearer.
