Thinking of putting these on my 200 series, but have been told with these the speedo will be out a lot and the spare wheel will not fit underneath. Can go to 265s which are 10 ply walls . Any ideas .200 has OME 50mm lift and nitros with air bags on rear.

SKL,
I have MT Baja 265/70 R17's 5 rib on my 200 series and have been very happy with them (6,000kms so far). They are not too noisy and the speedo reads around 3kms under at 60kph (according to my GPS). These tyres fitted ok in place of my spare under the vehicle. I now have my spare on a ARB wheel carrier.

See BlogID: 2723 "Are you operating your tyres beyond their design limits" This may affect your decision.

I run Mickey Thompson 265/70 17 5 rib as my road / touring tyres, and BFG KM2's 285/70 17 set for high country track work on my 200.
The larger ones will definitely fit under the body as a spare. No problem. They are also ok with the 2" lift.
The main issue is that your fuel use will increase by about 2 - 3 l/100km with the bigger tyres. The 200 will find it hard to get into 6th too. ( you have the free 6th gear upgrade done by Toyota too I hope), A BIG difference for a smaller increase in diameter. The 265 /70 17 are the same diameter as the OE tyres and it is much happier with this size unless you need the height.

Don't worry about the speedo
It normally reads a few km/hr fast on the standard tyres, (reads 100 when you are doing 96-97) and with 285/70 it actually reads spot on accurate
