l/100km
11-13 on the highway
14-18 in town
18-20 towing 1.5 - 3 tons.
They can be quite frugal, but when you work them horses......

Agh... another wannabe rumour munger who doesn't own one but knows all about them and "their" problems. I suppose you wouldn't want one if they gave it to you :)

The daughter lives out near
Hillston, so no city driving, but get around the 11 mark when travelling down to the ACT, No oil consumption.

Nick my 200 series has a big problem with oil consumption, it is not a rumour.
Some use oil, some don't.
Toyota have pulled out the motor to replace the pistons and rings to try and solve the problem. Hope the problem is solved when I get the car back after
Easter.

And there we go :) Most don't use oil - even look at the responces on this thread - and the ones that do, Toyota will rectify.
First they do the vacuum pump, then the oil line to the turbo (or intercooler, I forget) and then they replace the pistons in pre June 2008 models (there was a piston upgrade).
See, what problem. Now if you owned a Nissan (like I used to), then you have a real problem.... bury your head in the sand and hope the issue goes away (grenades...). Toyota on the other hand will come up with a solution - although there communication could certainly be improved.
Anything mechanical can/will have problems, its how the manufacturer responds that makes the difference.

I had several mechanical problems and Toyota have replaced the parts without questions. Even had follow up phone calls to ask if I was happy with the repairs and offered a loan car. They are repairing the motor even though it is out of the warranty period.
Try to get that service out of Nissan and see how you go.

Thanks Folks for all your input. I have a relatively new 200 series and the fuel consumption numbers are spot on with my experience. No oil consumption with
mine however, I do agree some (although very few) have used some oil and Toyota have rectified the issue.
My previous vehicle was a new Navara STX and prior to that was a new Patrol both had engine issues.....never agailn I learnt my lesson.

Same for me towing 2.7 tonnes but we have only just hit 4,500 km. Only half a litre of oil, and that was virtually all used in the first 1500 km while the engine was bedding in. No noticable oil usage since then.
