Easter is bearing down on us all and roads are opening at last ......
Burketown to NT Border is ok but you can not get past the border so would not even try it for a few weeks ...
MEANING you wont get from Boorloola to Burktown via the Savannah Way (yet), maybe 3 weeks, maybe less but will keep tabs on it for ya's all ....
Karumba/Normanton is open for business again and heaps pouring in .....
Burktown is open for business, barra are going mad with reports of excellent catches up to the 1m busters .....
All roads are under going major repairs so please be careful and travel slow, we are getting large numbers of trucks as we were cut off for months and need re-stocking so show them respect ....
Word of warning, fuel prices are going up and it will be noticed out here in the bush so please dont complain, get your car as full as possible before coming so you dont have hassles, i would say that some retailers will be looking closley at what they carry in stocks as we just cant afford to fork out $20,000 EXTRA for the same amounts of fuel, we just paid 20c a L more than we retailed it 18M ago......
Cheers all and please drive safe and slow

Hi Joe n Co,

Was up in Goergetown last week, the roads were cut up pretty bad but the crews were fixing them. Just so much to do and a few people doing it.

Cheers Wilko

yes roads are really bad, not so much volume of rain but more consistant and it just did not dry up hence many more washouts this year, even the sealed roads were getting so soft you could feel it sinking in the blacktop in places it was so wet under it ...

Hi Joe,
Julian and Marie from Mudgee NSW are in Burketown at the moment with their caravan. Casting off the causeway west of Burketown this morning they caught 3 Barra in 3 casts. 92cm, 88cm and 72cm. Looking forward to joining them soon.
Hope to travel from Burketown to Borroloola in a few weeks time!
Thanks for the update
Guy
