Had to pull the sheet up last night, as it was about 28 degree's. Would have turned the fan down to one, but it was toooo cold to get up. Today the humidity was 50%..... but I'm still not convinced this epic wet is over. We have had over 3.1 metres of rain dumped on us in Darwin so far.
They say the dry day's will continue over Easter. Hope so, as I am going down to see our old mate Doug T at Mt Bundy. Don't expect the "Sunday History" to be too early on Sunday as I plan to cook him a camp oven roast Saturday night and we will be talking about WW2 and aircraft crash sites and Pratt & Whitney engines which end up turning into "Wack & Prittly's" later in the night.
So, have a happy easter all, where ever you go and DT and I will have a "Wack & Prittney" for you as well.
D T and I will be attending the Dawn Service at the the Adelaide River War Memorial on Tuesday.
LEST WE FORGET.

HERE, IN PERTH WE WOULD BE OVERJOYED TO HAVE ONE TENTH OF THAT!!!! The little children are beginning to believe that water from the sky is a myth.

Hello Brian,
If only it could be piped to you from Lake Argyle, which is full to the brim at the moment. I have often thought of buying a bloody big tanker like the fuel trucks and connect it to my down pipes. It would be full and ready to go to you the next morning.
I'd have to factor in a "Moisture Tax" though!

hey Noel,
I've got my eye on the road watch sites, and it doesn't look too good at the moment. i was planning on a trip across the gulf track from cairns to darwin in june/july, but i think after that last cyclone in the NW, it dumped a heap of rain and am now thinking of heading south...bugga!

Morning Brian,
I wouldn't give up on the Gulf road yet, reckon it should be alright around July. The Barra could still be on in the Roper River even.
One thing is for sure, all the falls should be running until late this year.

We are looking at heading up to NT early May, probably be in the northern part early June, geez I hope the rain has eased by then, here in southeast QLD its rained nearly every second day for the last 12 months, I know it's not as bad as the northern areas but I'm getting tired of mowing the grass lol.

Cheers

Hi Noel,
I hope you are right. We have been here since September in our caravan on our journey around OZ.
It has been an experience to say the least to live through the record wet.
We wouldn't have it any other way.
So see the sights in the Top End in the wet has been fantastic.
That said, we are now looking forward to the dry, before we head over to WA.
Happy Travels
Clint

Hey Clint & Chell,
Yes you have experienced something unique, but I think that 's enough now, I'm over it.
You really need to see the top end in both seasons to appreciate the extremes.
Arrr the Territory ya wouldn't be anywhere else!

Looking forward to our weekend , are you sure you haven't had too many
"Pack & Writtly's" at work, Been busy making a new flag pole today, so it'll be up and ready for Anzac .
Also made a Jerry Can holder for the Quad trailer. Not counting the welding rods and my time the whole trailer would have cost around $140. All the steel , chassis and axle except the floor was found over near the airstrip.
