I recently installed 60 series 5 speed gear box in my deisel cruiser.Bolted straight onto the 47 bell housing,so did,nt have to touch clutch or fly wheel. I am very happy with the conversion except the rev counter is not working.Just wondering if any body might know what the problem is ,regards Stephen.

Stephen,

I believe the tachometer sensor is fitted in the bell housing (someone can correct me here). You didn't by any chance disconnect/damage/shear the sensor?

That's the only thing that comes to mind at the moment...???

Good luck!

Tim.

Stephen,
yes, the bell housing has the tacho sensor mounted in it and it should be on the opposite side to the starter motor. There should be a plug with red and white/black wires to it. Then again Mr Toyota has been known to use many colours.

Anyway the connecting plug will be there, just hope the sensor is. Even if the tacho is not connected the 5 speed will be a huge bonus (lots of noise reduction in 5th gear)

Have a safe one all.
