My wife and I live in WA and will be on the east coast during the Christmas and New Years holidays. We only have committed ourselves to the camper trailers national event in Baradine, NSW in late September and Blue Mountains in early February.
We know the east coast has many places to go, but we are looking for someplace that has few children to none and a nice camping atmosphere. It can be near the ocean, lakes, and/or rivers.
We have an off road camper trailer, so we should be able to venture to most places.
This can be in QLD, NSW, VIC or SA. We have left off TAS, as it is to expensive to get there and back.

Hopefully we'll get some great ideas.

G'day Greg
Anywhere other than the coast itself - go up onto the Great Divide and you'll find lots of great places with few people and much more pleasant weather conditions. The Granite Belt would be a good place to look around for starters. Sorry mate but I'm not divulging my top secret spots on here so no specific locations from me! Maybe others will be more forthcoming.

Hi Greg,
have just got back to WA from 3 weeks in Tasmania. try not to leave it out.lots of rivers ,lakes ,coast line etc and lots of free camping which might offset some of the cost of getting there. We flew over and hired a camper van.if we had another 2 weeks it still would not have been long enough.

regards Dean

Thanks Dean,

We will be away from home for a long time and wandering around the east coast and back up to the Kimberleys at some stage.
It is a good idea to hire, but then we'd have to store our 4wd and camper trailer, that could be very expensive.
