I am looking for
views or knowledge from people who have camped at or have intimate knowledge of the following areas....Thieles sand bar , Milichs landing , Rilli reserve....these are all near Loxton SA ,the info that I require is this...local wood supply for a
camp fire ? much of it about ? , accessability for 2 wheel drive vehicle and van ,and suitable for at least a 3 to 4 week stay, any other
free camping places in the vicinity that you may know of that have these things (within 30 to 50kms or so). Have portable
toilet , shower , and quiet portable power .We intend to go up that way in June for a bit of camping/fishing , (car topper boat), we normally go elsewhere but decided that a change of scenery would nice. 2 retired, quiet couples who like sitting around the
camp fire at night and watching the stars and with as little noise as possible. We do have some info from the Visitor info centre at Loxton , but word of mouth from people who have been there and done that is usually very good...cheers

Thieles and Rilli's are currently under water but the river is dropping fast atm.
Milichs is fine and has a good
boat ramp. Not a lot of room there though. Not much firewood available at any of them but plenty nearby, particularly if you use your boat to collect wood from the other side of the river. No prob with 2wd access to any of them when dry. Also consider Katarapko, easy access from
Berri or
Lyrup Flats.

Thanks for the replys...we launch the boat from the bank where possible , do not mind driving around a bit to collect firewood ...did not really expect it to be readily available just where one wants to
camp...it is the same along most of the Murray , you have to do some work to get it. There is an old saying about yabbies...you can only get them in months with an "R" in the name...hope it is wrong...cheers
