There might be any number of scenarios depending on your own circumstances and how you are being engaged to work. Are you a contractor, or a casual employee for instance, the answer may be different. So you may need to be a little more specific.
But generally, the government won’t fund your holiday around Australia if that is what you are looking at... The tax office won’t usually allow you to claim travel between your place of residence (at the time) and where you are working.

Hi,
the ATO could help you with info, or if you have an accountant give them a call.
I am self employed, with an ABN and I can claim a fair amount, within reason.

Yes the ATO have info on this but it seems if you can line up employment along the way there is a way to get travel expenses between worksites at the termination of each period of work.
NOT DAILY TRAVEL
Dont know about living expenses as you dont get them at
home so why would you on the road.

Hi Phillhamma
You need to consult a good taxation accountant first - everyone's circumstances are different. ATO do not give out useful information.
Check No Boundaries for a bit more on this type of travelling work.
As said, we cannot claim travel to a normal employment situation job nor living expenses when at
home, so it is much the same.

You do not say how long you are planning to be doing this.
Check out the Zone Rebate on tax - if you live in a zone the ATO classifies as remote, for roughly half a year, you get a tax rebate on income earned for the whole year. Quite a lot of the country falls into the rebate zone. There is also a really remote zone that gets a bigger rebate.
