We have a Coleman 3 burner instastart campstove which we bought cos we thought it was sort of top of the line. Worked fine the first camping trip. Next time it just kept going out or 'powering down' to where it would barely cook anything. Hubby bought a new hose (although nothing had happened to the old one) and it worked again for the next trip. Now on our Easter trip we noticed that gas was leaking out of a small factory made hole on top of the regulator whenever we used it. Anyone else had these problems or know how to solve them? Did we buy a lemon? What camp stov edo others recommend as we r about ready to get something else!!!

Sounds like a faulty regulator as it shouldnt be leaking gas from any holes.

Cannot say for sure but if gas is coming out of the small hole in the regulator then I think the diaphragm has had it. Try pulling the reg apart and checking the rubber diaphragm for tiny cracks or holes. Might be a problem with the manufacturer of the regulators if the first one had a problem as well.

Try changing the regulator hoses over if you have the old one with you. You never know you might stumble onto the problem in the first one.

Cheers, Bruce.

Hiya Buddy

We have Rays over here in Vic, where you bought your unit, take it back and a Coleman Rep will look at it next time he is in...Coleman are second to none with there products thats why most my stuff is Coleman...Ive taken my Northstar Lantern back and it was repaired at no cost and even if its out of warranty (well ive never even been asked for a receipt)..... Just recently i took back my folda n go (double one not made anymore, production costs to high i was told and its brilliant)...Sure it took a week and something similar to what you had (flame real low, turn on the second-side and not much at all.. and fixed...

Goodluck and i'd advise sticking with them...

Thanks for all the answers. I didn't think I could take it back to the store as we no longer have the receipt, but we will give it a try as I think it should not have malfunctioned and it is good to hear Coleman stand by their products. I also sent an email to their web page so hopefully we will get a result, I'll let you know

Hi IdahOz. I purchased the new two burner model recently. I have had an earlier version for a number of years and never had a problem. The new one now has a silly two piece hose with the regulator up at the stove. My new one had a faulty valve in the flexible hose piece which was replaced without question. I feel the old one piece hose with the regulator at the bottle is a much simpler idea and less prone to failures. Not withstanding the burners on the new model are much faster than the older one i have so I guess you may be unlucky to have two failures. Cheers,Bob.
