Has anyone used this oil yet?
If so what's the verdict, good or not?
I have 200,00k on my 05 TD Courier and it has been recommended to me, so if you know anything about it would like to hear your thoughts as I have used Penrite for years.
Bushy.

I did not say that it was bad. All That I was after was has anyone used it yet, I have used Penrite for over 15 years however am not impressed with the Diesel 5 usage.
!.5ltr in 10,000k , have never had a usage rate anywere near that over that time frame.
Thanks anyway.

Bushy,
I have used Penrite oil in my 04 GU 4.2 TDI since new, it has done 267,000km, of mainly hard
yacka towing a heavy tandem trailor around
Melbourne for work, wich involved plenty of short, stop start trips etc, and allways towed a boat or camper for holidays, and it is still A1, I have no hesitation in recomending Penrite.
Cheers.....Browny

Cheers Browny, have used it ever since I worked in an engine
shop and seen the difference it made.
This new Diesel SP has been recomended to me, and I did not even know of its existance so I was trying to see if anyone else has heard of it.
Cheers Bushy.

Point taken but had you heard of Penrite SP before..
As previously stated used to work in an engine
shop so oils ain't oils.

I have to agree with get outmore. Diesels engines go forever using any brand of oil, as long as you change it when needed.
I never use Penrite - too much hype in their advertising.
What does SP mean? is it the API grade after SM?

Hi Phil Penrite Diesel SP is a new oil for the SAE 10-40 range, as there earlier oil did not seem to suit certain vechiles.
It has been out since maRch 2010, but no one seems to have heard of it?

Got to agree , what and where is the point of running fresh oil thru a dirty filter , once the oil needs changing so does the filter ,

hi bushy 04
i have not heard of sp penrite
but i have been changing engine oils for the last 50yrs + and have used just about everybrand on the market for various long periods and what i have learnt and found is
its how regular the oil and filter is changed more so than the quality that really counts
despite all the lastest long term recommended oil change periods by car makers
i still stick rigidly to 5000km oil and filter changes their long term gimmicks is designed to wear out engines and sell more parts and /or vehicles
imho
cheers barry
