is it a massive job to install a 4.2TD into a 92' GQ ute which had a 4.2 ST. My old 4.2 has failed and I figure better to get the best engine made. Any Hints?
I am looking to buy the engine, any out there?
cheers
chris

One of the members here slotted a toyota 1HD FT into a patrol and apparently is very happy with it. It was quite involved and it cost quite a few bucks if I recall.
Of cause you finish up with a cross breed but then you get plenty of hybrid vigour they tell me. LOL
Do a search on TONI and see how you go.
Cheers, Bruce.

OK so it was On Patrol and the owner is Colin.
Do a search on TONI and look at the
forum results. There are several posts to look at.

G/Day
Nissan have been advertising Long Motors re: 4.2TD and 3ltr CRD apparently they are reasonably priced, they are brand new, must have had a lot spare.
Cheers

No, Christopher P - you've got it mistaken - they've got spare because Nissans never break down!! ;)
(From formerly a Toyota man now owner of two Patrols!)

If your 4.2st was a diesel it is very simple. if it was a petrol 4.2st it will be a little more difficult as there is wiring to change and engine mounts and bell housing.
