My Dometic RM2553 suddenly stopped working on 240 volts while 12v and gas are still perfect. The power is still getting to the terminal block at the back of the fridge, from there I assume it must be the element.
Please could someone give me directions how to locate the element. From what I read it can be replaced by a handy man without removing the fridge.
A website with wiring diagrams and a pinpoint location of the element would be great.
Thanking someone in anticipation,
John

Jon,
Thanks for your reply.
What I guess I'm after at the moment is information as to where the 240v element is actually located in the fridge. If I can gain access to it without removing the fridge then I can run a multi meter across it and replace if necessary.

Depends I guess John on how big the panel is to gain access to the rear from the out side of the Van.
I'm having a guess here that they wouldn't be a great deal of difference to an older RM360, the element is placed in the flue section. I have had a 150W element for the 12V installed and I believe they are beside the 240V element.
Have a look here RM360 Page 13.
This may give you some help.

Try this

tech data

Note. Refers to US 120 volt element for resistance readings
