Hello All
I have looked for threads on this but have not found what I am after. What I want is to know can you update my 2008 TOPO maps for my NUVI GPS. If so how can this be done.

Hi,
If you registered your Garmin with Garmin Aust, go to the My Garmin site and
check out the maps available. If not
Check out this site, they will sort you out.

Hi Vern
Garmin have released an updated version to fix a good number of known errors with the first version. If you want to upgrade, the only way to do so is to purchase the new version for around the $200 mark.
I was promised an updated copy and I am still waiting and believe that they have no intention of supping the new version.
How the new updated version stacks up with the old I do not know and personally am not prepared to waste the $200 to find out.
Yes I am a very dissatisfied owner of the first release, and found that the free to download Shonky maps worked far better in true remote areas.
Just my personal thoughts.
Cheers
Stephen

I see you are from
Clare ! I was at Polish
Hill for
Easter ( just out of
Clare) enjoyed myself and the Dawn service was good also even the coffee and Rum back at the RSL

Hi Vern
Yes it is a very pretty little spot out there at Polish
Hill River with lots of local history to go with the name. The local Dawn Service is always great and I have to admit, but this year was the first time in a very long time that I was not able to attend the Service, but at least my son went and put in the family appearance, along with my dad.
Cheers
Stephen

Vern
As stephen says there is no upgrade path/trade up on Garmin topo.
If your Nuvi can take a micro SD/SD card then Garmin Topo Aust & NZ V3 can be had for $100
HERE.
It's all above board and I can vouch it works - loaded straight into my Oregon and registered with Garmin fine.

Hi Bazooka
That is a real bargain and was not aware that it could be purchased so cheap from Canada for Australian map data.
Cheers
