We are heading from
Melbourne via
White Cliffs and Cameron's Corner on to the
Strzelecki track and then down to
Lyndhurst. From there to either
Marree or
William Creek. From the road reports it seems all roads are open and in reasonable nick can anybody add some first hand information.
Recommendations on what flight company to use for Lake Eyre would also be appreciated and whether a chopper or plane offers the best experience.
Also can we drive out to the lake and is it worth the effort.
Thanks in advance.

Hi TTD1
Just back from up that way & most tracks & roads are open.
However a few mm's of rain could change that.
In
Marree we were told of what I thought was good deal, $360.00 for a 2 hour flight to
Birdsville over the Cooper then over Lake Eyre -
check at the hotel for details. Ask at the
Lake Eyre Yacht Club re access to Lake Eyre they have updates daily. Whatever way you decide you will be delighted to see the outback in the best condition it's been for many years.
Cheers 4 now
Mike

Hi,TTD1, Last year we flew with Wright Air from
Coober Pedy,a 4hr flight in an 8 seater air bus, a great flight with a
well informed pilot. She took us over
the Breakaways and
the Painted Desert on the way to the lake,we spent a lot of time over the lake, then we flew over over the Olympic
dam site and Anna Creek Station. We landed at
William Creek for a drink on the way
home , total cost for 2 people was $800, a very good deal and a great experience, we got back at about 5pm. Regards Keith

Thanks Keith,
I have had a look at the Wright Air web site and they appear very professional.
