I have been checking through my GU 2.8 Diesel and have found a wire lying loose in the left hand rear of the body, behind one of the covers which is removable from the inside, everything seems to work O.K. Has anyone else found this wire or is it a leftover from the previous owner?

left hand side, as in drivers? if so, this is half the wiring for the Arab spec rear tail lights which are not fitted to Australian Patrols.

Steve,
Thanks for this, but it is the passenger side, hoping to wire the upper lights at a later date, just wondering what this wire is for.

does it look factory or
home done, have you tested it with a Multimeter to see if it is active ?

the plug will be "live" as I had the Arab lights wired up and utilised power for brake lights off it. It seems funny that it only is on the passenger side and not the drivers as
well.

My 98 GU 2.8 has the same thing. I thought it might be for powering a chilling accessory for the storage box between the front seats which I think is a standard option on the top of the range model!
