Hi Guys,

being nearly there on our search for a new 4WD dual cab there is one last thing eating away at me... The what seems to be common Injector related issues associated with the D4D diesel engines.

What I would like to know, from the D4D owners out there is how wide spread are the problems and is there a Fix?

Is it just a matter of ensuring your diesel is clean and keeping the engine oil fresh?

Any help on this matter would be great, this is the last factor between us and a D4D hilux.

Thanks

Shaun and Sarah

Some people experienced the cold rattles with their Hiluxes, my injectors were replaced under warranty. The later injectors seem to sort the problem but it was only some vehicles that were affected
Have a look over on www.Newhilux.net and you will get all the info you need on the subject.

Are you buying a new vehicle or second hand? If second hand, check to see if the injectors have been done. New vehicles should have the issue sorted by now. I purchased a second hand Hilux last year with 170,000 km on the odo and have had no rattle issues, except on really cold mornings for about 30 seconds of driving. With any diesel, you need to put quality fuel into it and keep the services up to date.
