I have a relatively new (15 months old) Dometic RM 2553 fridge in my Van, Problem : 2 of the freezer door spring housings have broken and I cannot work out how to fit the new ones with enough tension on the springs to hold the freezer door closed, would any one out there in the Caravan world be able to help me please. These little pieces of plastic are $35 each which leads me to believe that it may be a fairly common problem with these fridges.
Thanks

Hi,
If they are the same as the rest of the range, it's is a little tricky, but once you get your head around the idea they are easy enough to replace.
Down load a copy of this This Frig Manual!( It's for a RM360, but should be the same as yousr, Page, 9 Frig 11 & 12
Your have to put the tension (anti clockwise I think) on them before your screw it to the door.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

They are not that fragile. You must be pushing down to hard when the door is down. We don't have any problems with our 2350.
Gently bently does it.

Thanks guys for your replys, after posting this forum I emailed Dometic and within 1 hour I had a set of instructions on how to fit them, again I suspect it may be a fairly common problem, If anyone would like a copy just email me.
Thanks
