OSM Mapping

Hi All,

Many of you would know of OpenStreetMap, if you do not, please go have a look at http://www.openstreetmap.org/

As an avid 4WDer I have a lot of commercial maps, and many times they are extremely inadequate. Tracks that don't exist that are on the map, or vice-versa, tracks so far wrong in location it can be near impossible to find.
For the most part, OpenStreetMap is currently no better, but due to it's open nature, that won't be the case forever.

I have been adding as much as I can to the project, increasing accuracy, adding roads, tracks, camps, and alike for everywhere I have been. My efforts are primarily seen in Cape York, Grampians, Simpson Desert, and several small towns. I have effectively added everything I have GPS Logs for, and I would like to continue contributing to this project. Everything out bush on OSM, is already well infront of any commercial maps, because it is from people who have driven the actual tracks, and not just a straight line which roughly lines up with whats there.

If you can send me your GPS track logs, I will add them into the OpenStreetMap Database. Naturally as much information you can provide with the track log would be helpful, in defining what type of road, access restrictions, or any other details that would be helpful to be seen on the map.

Please note that the track logs, are what I would be using to derive the tracks/roads/POI's from, and as with any organisation, there are Contributor Terms and Licenses regarding how that data can be used.
Please see the details here http://www.osmfoundation.org/wiki/License/Contributor_Terms

Please help map Australia, this will benefit everyone!
