I am wondering if anyone would know if the new 3.0 V6 550 nM diesel that Nissan has recently introduced into the Pathfinder/Navara would fit into a GU Patrol? If so, could it be paired with the current manual gearbox or another manual box. I believe Nissan only has it paired to a 7 speed auto at present.

It would be a massive amount of work and plenty of time off the road.

Most the electrics to get it running would be the problem.

Ealry days some Patrol owners put Duramax's in, and ended up removing the guts of the dash from the donor car to make it all work.

Anything is possible....Would be a nice car though....at a high price.

Have had a good look at mates one , I think it would fit.

The box seems to be well intergrated into engine and don't think engine would be so good mated to the 5 speed manual.

Overall I didn't think you would be better off than with the 4800 motor.

If it comes as an affordable package in the GU I would be in the queue but my feeling and that of most Patrol sites is that this is unlikely.

Hence my move to get another 4800.
