Not so grey nomads
Have just travelled to
Lawn Hill via
Camooweal Gregory Downs Road and
Riversleigh. The graders are hard at it and have pretty
well completed these sections. the
Gregory River crossing is about two feet deep with a fair current. Many caravans were being taken in/out. I chose to leave the van at
Camooweal Hotel Caravan park (no charge as we stayed there one night either side of
Lawn Hill) and glad we did so. It would have made for a very slow trip and shaken the van about. Sections of the road are quite rough.
Lawn Hill is beautiful.

You did
well to get that close to a freshie croc at
Lawn Hill. They are pretty used to tourists but usually are so timid that they are
well away before you get anywhere near them.

We were really lucky, there were 9 of the friendly fellows posing for us on the day. The one pictured being the largest.

You were lucky to spot the crocs. Four days and all I saw was a slide mark into the water.
