is there a possibility to drive from uluru to
Erldunda and further on crossing stuart hwy to Impadna and to Horeshoe Bend to the old ghan road north?
From
Horseshoe Bend I can see in the Great Dessert Tracks Map, that there is a private track. So we can use or not? Where we can ask or get a permit? After reaching the ghan we want to follow north to Titjikala and to
Chambers Pillar.
After that we want to drive north and on Marvale Rd. going west to visit
Rainbow Valley. Is there a possibility to enter from that road or we must go to the valley via stuart highway? I saw on google earth, that there must be a road along the central australia railway north and then to west reaching the
rainbow valley from east?
We are from Austria and hopefully get an answer soon, as we leave Europe in one week.

Hi Werner
As far as i know you cannot go through the private tracks, and the Hugh Stock Road to the north of Maryvale is the only public road between the Stuart Highway and the South Road (Ghan). Others here may have better knowledge. I recall there was a thread discussing this here a few months ago.
You cannot get into
Rainbow Valley from the east, and the only permitted entry is from the Stuart Highway. It is a fairly easy drive to do in less than a day from
Chambers Pillar to
Rainbow Valley via the Hugh Stock Road.

Motherhen has it pretty
well right.
There is a track from the railway line along the Northern boundry of
Rainbow Valley which Im sure no one would mind you useing but apart from that Station owners are very unlikely going to give you permission to enter ther property.
Cheers

Gooday all : one of the reasons that station owners don't like people using their tacks etc is (as i was told years ago ) that if they find vehicle tracks on the station they need to find out who they belong to & why they are there !! & that costs time !!!.
