Can any one confirm a few details about the Finke race.
1 - where exactly is the gate that blocks the main rd where the race track crosses , From memory it is Just before the short cut track to Maryvale .Am I right?
2 - After passing through the gate is the Race track then on the right hand side if heading north ?

3 - What is the latest time we can head down the track to Finke on Sunday morning before the road is blocked off.

4 - Can you get through to the finke race track from the Hugh River stock route at any time if the track is on the right hand side of the road as I beleive it is ?

If any one who has knowledge of the track & back roads in can answer these questions it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

1. The road is usually blocked at Deep Well turn off

2. The track is on the right hand side when heading north once above the road block.

3. No idea check the Finke Desert Race website and email the organisers

4. Yes I guess you could get pretty close to it on the Hugh River stock Route but not sure of location of road blocks on that route

You Again ,
Dont you have a job!

I think you were right the first time, I was there a month ago & think I recall the track being on the left of the main rd from Finke to the maryvale short cut & then from there onwards we followed the track was on the right all the way to Alice Race track!

Why did you change your mind ?

Nope Alice race track is west of the Old South road and so is the Finke track until Deep Well turn off when the Old South road deviates west, crossing the Finke track.

I am doing my job. I am in my office right now working. Some of us are efficient workers- I tell my wife. So while I am writing to corporations regarding 4wd training, I am writing on here, and talking to friends on ham radio ...talk about multi-tasking!

It's called multi skilling. Women, particularly wives, don't think we can do it.
