While I wait for new troopy been researching in preparation for big trip next year. Get a tad annoyed after reading pages of interesting info only to learn the next tour of such and such is on 5th April 2009. Great, just wasted all that time. Any way I can tell if a site is current before I waste time reading out of date info?
Thanks
Dave

Generally speaking the most often clicked on link, appears at the top of the page. In regards to how old the thing is, I don't think there is a way. Occasionaly you might see a date in the search result.

Hi Dave,
You will find most if not all posts in the different forums are date stamped.
Check the date of the post and this will give you an idea if it is relevant to your needs.
As for advertising pages on the web I cannot help you as i don't use them.
Cheers, Bruce.

Thanks Bruce
Get good info this
forum. Some others I notice someone asks a question and the next 20 replies are either bagging old mate or completley off topic.
Thanks
Dave

You can get that here also Dave.
But the biggest plus for this site is it is pretty quick in response times as opposed to some sites where it can take months to get a reply.
You sort of go back about twice a year to see if you have gotten an answer. LOL
Not only that but there is a very broad experience base here and the age and gender groups cover the entire spectrum. Something for everyone. Very good value in my opinion.
Cheers, Bruce.

Dave - if you are using Google it is easy to limit your search by date (menu bar on LHS after you do a basic search allows you to restrict your search in a number of ways; or, use 'Advanced Search' and set your parameters there). Some net programmers have various tricks to 'update' pages so you will still get some old info.
In Firefox, if you right click on a page you will see 'View Page Info' which gives a page update date. In IE it is under 'Properties'. This also can be misleading as the date can refer to changes to frames, ads etc, not just content.
Not sure if this is what you meant.
Cheers

Dave
This is a big problem with the internet. If even you agree to any conditions you should download them as they can change the next second etc and your agreement is null if you have your own copy. Lots of other complications as well.
To your question: At least using the date filter as bazooka detailed will get you closer to "now".
But essentially apart from a date being supplied with the post or document etc there isn't any way of telling how current the information is. That's why my first paragraph. Watch out for agreements, conditions and comments when buying on line.
