It was a beautiful day in Melbourne today - we were fortunate enough to have a prickly visitor - and a thunderstorm. Australia - aint it a great place?? What other countries can you have an echidna in the back yard?? lol Had a snake last year which wasn't so welcome!

Thanks Ma - yeh the snake just crawled around the rocks at the end of the pool and disappeared under a bush. Wasnt going to go searching from him under the bush and havent seen him again. Thought an old girl like you would be used to handling a snake or two.

Yep they are there alright , nice friendly tiger snakes everywhere south of divide, Bagged my first one the other day with the slasher, hope i dont see too many more.. That horse you have got out the back should make enough noise to deter them, but they would love that big shed !!!!Moo... everyone knows what a Jackaroo looks like :-)

Hi Brad..

the primary school had quite a few last year, I nearly trod on a Brown Snake up the road just out of Romsey before you go down the hill to the bridge..was taking a pic of the vista..lol..

I reckon the snakes would love the mess behind the shed too - not sure if you saw that..!...BIG clean up here on the weekend..the slasher is back and a big bin is coming to remove some junk [did I say junk, I'll be in trouble now]'S Rioghail Mo Dhream

I forgot to say that it was the first one for this season, seen many over the years at the guim, lets just say some of them got away :-) ( not that i would condone doing anything to them ! ) Up in the north east we only ever had Red belly blacks ( timid as ) and eastern browns ( sooner get away from you then fight ) but these tigers are something else , more front than Myers !!

The self propeled Mobilco super heavycut i've got takes care of anything thet gets in the way, grass, trees, animals, small children etc LOL. Nothing stops the 11 horsepower honda - oh yeah..
Good luck on the weekend , remember i'ts not junk, it is just waiting for a future use... See yaMoo... everyone knows what a Jackaroo looks like :-)

Sorry Andrew, but "a beautiful day in Melbourne" seems like a contradiction in terms. LOL.

Grew up in Melbourne Andrew but Since moving to Queensland 27 years ago, mate, what can I say??

Great pics though mate.

LOL.........well it started out as a great day.......and then there was a change and some buildings flooded and shops closed........so "beautiful" might have been a bit optomistic. But I had the day off and we had an echidna in the backyard - so who cares about the weather.

You chicken,,,,,,,fancy being scared of a snake, they dont hurt you if you get them with the shovel first. Those spikes on the echidna you had yesterday make great toothpicks.....lol (bush toothpicks) especially when you are out camping in your KANGA CAPER TRAILER.
Sorry Andrew

Kanga Camper would be great - better than that little white thing I can see in the photo behind your car. I am gunna keep saving - maybe sell some toothpicks to you bush girls - and eventually I will have one. I reckon going away saves heaps. Guess where Jen is at the moment!! LOL
