I had my van wired for the panel when it was being built. so it was an easy task for me to simply mount the panel on the roof of the van and connect it up - with the neccesary solar controller inline as
well of course. If you are agile enough the mounting of the panel on the roof is easy - use sikaflex adhesive from Bunnings etc, and some aluminium mounts giving you 20mm gap between roof and panel and then find somebody to do the wiring. A call to one of the major caravan producers, Jayco etc, and ask them who does their repairs etc, might point you to somebody who knows what they are doing. Use of approp. cabling size, safe routing through panelwork etc to avoid leaks and abbrassions of the cable etc are important. What type of van do you have? a forumite may have a similar van with a panel on the roof and they will give you some pointers to the best location for the panel and cable routing.
