We were in the CP a year ago; the selfcontained chalets are fine - ask for one that backs on to the woodland.

Cheers.

No worries, D.

I had a house there, sold it when I moved over here.

Prinsep Street is the road to Esperance and Roberts Street is the town's main drag, if you are wanting to give your mates an idea where those places are.

Cheers,
Dennis

I stayed at the motel about eight weeks ago and is one of my regular places when crossing the Nullabor. The "deluxe" room I was allocated had maggots crawling from the wall across the bathroom basin with a putrid smell through the room. Something must of died in the roof but still charged top rate..
Everything booked out so a stick of incense and put up with it. The meals are microwaved and pretty bad.
I travel about 30,000kms a year all over Oz and the worst places are here in my home state.
With the mining boom keeping the rooms full, nobody has any desire to update and they believe service is something a car has.
There are a lot of negatives in a mining boom and the police are always saying take a break, where ?. Try and get a room anywhere north of Carnarvon that doesn't cost you your first born and is very average ( Donga or a room/linen decades old ) when you do shell out more than what you paid at the new Hilton in Melbourne earlier back in your trip.
Good luck with the accommodation.

If they are looking for something in the vicinity and don't want to actually be in Norseman ( where accomodation choice isn't that great) take a look at a beautiful place only 100km East of Norseman called Fraser Range Station.
http://www.fraserrangestation.com.au/
They have a clean caravan park which is nice and quiet, clean ablutions and beautiful gardens and surrounds. They have a small shop with general stores but generally they will need to be self sufficient for food. They don't sell fuel but its halfway between Balladonia and Norseman so have them plan around those for refuelling. It is well signposted from each direction with signage at 25km, 10km and then 1km from the turn off. Coming from the East you turn left and there is an all weather gravel road to the park. Its only 1.6km and in very good condition for all vehicle types. We have stayed there an several occasions and enjoyed the park and the hosts are extremely freindly and helpful. Cheers Noel.
