I stayed at the motel about eight weeks ago and is one of my regular
places when crossing the Nullabor. The "deluxe" room I was allocated had maggots crawling from the wall across the bathroom basin with a putrid smell through the room. Something must of died in the roof but still charged top rate..
Everything booked out so a stick of incense and put up with it. The meals are microwaved and pretty bad.
I travel about 30,000kms a year all over Oz and the worst
places are here in
my home state.
With the mining boom keeping the rooms full, nobody has any desire to update and they believe service is something a car has.
There are a lot of negatives in a mining boom and the police are always saying take a break, where ?. Try and get a room anywhere north of
Carnarvon that doesn't cost you your first born and is very average ( Donga or a room/linen decades old ) when you do shell out more than what you paid at the new Hilton in
Melbourne earlier back in your trip.
Good luck with the accommodation.
