I was just after some info if anyone has fitted a
snorkel to an 80 on gas.
I went to get a price from tjm the other day and the bloke there said that they try not to fit them to 80's on gas as they seem to cause problems. He did say that he had heard of some gas guys getting them to work by altering the settings. I was just after anyone else's experiences

Not sure if this helps..
I have a GQ on gas with
snorkel..no problems. The gas installer did tell me the
snorkel may cause the engine to stall as it gets to much air,however this would be the case straight after the install and all they need to do is turn the intake back to front(on a ram air intake
snorkel).

I also have a GQ on gas. Fitted the
snorkel myself, with a ram type head pointing forwards. I have not had any problems whatsoever, at any speed. My gas system is an Impco - perhaps the type of gas system may have an influence as different brands have different delivery/injection systems at the carby end - ??

my 80 on gas ran much better after fitting a snorkle. It has more power on gas ,, than petrol now , sometimes they play up on petrol due to the air flow meter ,
