Stayed at Mabel Downs Station (caravan
park) over the past few days. Facilities are very limited - they're still not quite up and running yet. Cost is very high, but good spot if you want to leave van behind.
Free camps on Great Northern Highway are still operating, but can't comment on suitability for security.
Currently northern end of Bungles is closed, only one
campsite operating + flights. Numerous
creek crossings on road in from highway, deepest around 500mm.
