So on my last trip I noticed that the bonnet skin off my troopy had come off its metal support backing in places and is making an almighty racket when going over corrugations.
Was just wondering what others have done/used to stick it back together?

There are some good "Sika" glues available that would probably do the trick.

Can't give you details but check with this site for applications

Pop into a local crash shop and ask what they do.

I had the same thing happen to me and had those guys pump some stuff (?) in between the skin and the support braces...cost me a carton of SA's finest, but held out better than the factory body adhesive that was in there.

Avoid hardware store solutions. They won't do the job, all they seem to do is isolate the two components to reduce the noise but rarely offer enough adhesion to hold the two panels together.

...from memory, it may have been a butyl product they used.

...sorry for the repeated follow ups. Did a google search on butyl...

note: "for bonding various substrates such as painted metals"

Applications
Butyl tapes are used for sealing roof-mounted air conditioners, vents, antennas, awnings and window trim. They are useful in sealing storage bins to interior refrigerators and plumbing to exterior seams, for bonding various substrates such as painted metals, aluminum, wood, glass, steel and many plastics and composite materials. Also used for sealing auxiliary spotlights, running and directional lights and for construction of vehicle body and cab including panels, body seams, underbody, roofing, truck beds, trim, wheel wells and exterior electrical harnessing.
