Hi All , I had been doing alot ofhomewrk over the past few months on options to improve the proformance in my TD42I, and I was pretty much sold on a turbo upgrade. Then a couple of weeks ago I met with MickO and went for a drive (read: gone for a Burn!) in his truck (wow) which had just come back form Turbo Engineering in Thomastown. 03 9464 7727
Well I had a chat to them and booked it in!
Picked it up last night and VERY happy. They just did a fuel pump modication which they call an 'Up Grade Kit' (I already had a 3" System) and the difference is amazing!! Best $1,279 I've spent in a long time!
At:40kph it's gone from 22kW to 23kW..but ..
at 60kph from 50 to 76
at 80kph from 62 to 92
at 100kph it's gone form 72kW to 102kW &
at 120 from 71 to 99
Great people, great service, great result.
Thanks Mick O!
Cheers
Alex

Any idea what they do? (or what you are getting for your $1279)
I'd be interested but I'd need to find someone down this way to do it.

Hi Dave,
I'll probably get this wrong but apparently the motor comes with a semi electronic pump - they change a part in the pump to enable them to correct the fuel flows to maximise the benefit of the bigger exhaust. They call it a 'Pump pressure upgrade'. This way the motor is not only breathing easier but getting the required fuel at the Right time.
They also do a Dyno before and after, basic tune,
check settings, reset the pump etc.
Give Carolyn a call; she explained it very
well in laymen’s terms :-)
Let me know how you go.
Cheers

did you look at fitting a super charger and the tourge figures compared to a turbo.
