Before i go puting up photos and mucking around with huge explainations, does anyone out there own a 2005 /2006 105 series standard landcruiser with a fuel economy of 15 - 16 litres per 100 and want to lower it into the 14's by just a simple modification which takes approx 4minutes to do?
Must be 2005 - 2006, cant be earlier.

Didn't sound like a "dummy spit" to me. He went to upload pics then realised that as a Non-Member he couldn't so let us know.

Having said that, it does sound like an advertisement for something shifty. lol

Now common fellas, don't go changing feet just yet.

Give the poor guy a chance to see if there is enough positive response to warrant further input.

Too many people are frightened off this way. I have not seen that many Einsteines on here that we should jump to the high moral ground yet.

More encouragement is needed.
Cheers, Bruce.

Thanks for your input but not sure just why a simple modification for fuel economy would be applicable to just a 2005/2006 105 series standard Cruiser"?

Anyway, Lots of thoughts on the subject as fuel is a major contributor to travelling costs, particularly if you are towing and most of us are doing just that!

An old bushie bloke told me many years ago that one sure fire way to cut fuel consumption was to take the heavy hob nail boots off when driving & put on a pair of slippers & treat the throttle as you would a woman, with Kindness & Just a gentle touch here & there when needed, gentle & steady he reckoned & only put the boot in when necessary!! Worked for him he told me!

Try it, slow up a bit, You will enjoy not only the scenery & be rewarded by saving a few bucks on fuel.

yep GO THE MAROONS .............

Perhaps you have to cover the blue paint and it all works better, or a simple dot of MAROON paint on the fuel pump works, maybe there is a part painted BLUE within that date range .....
Tis possible .......

That's very right young Kev, very right, nothing like the best of gear. Your earlier comment ref "Gas"? was that just an observation or a Fart? There are many reasons as to why one passes wind (fart) one being the eating of humble pie! Bring it on! Cheers :)

Ummm...definition of benifit according to urban dictionary is...'a person that you dont have to be emotionally attached to or going out with to have fun with sexually and physically." Not sure how that relates to a Landcruiser fuel system.
Maybe you meant "benefit?"

Witi Repartee.

Maybe a typo but at least I was not inferring a sexual binifit more in relation to

vi·at·i·cal (v - t -k l). adj. 1. or vi·at·ic (v - t k) Of or relating to travelling, a road, or a way. 2. Of or relating to a contractual arrangement in ...

I have done a spellcheck on this post.

Anyway, as someone said, i tried to upload the photo because i thought i would show the mod regardless of who wanted to see it.......
Thanks to the people who just took the liquid out of me (Member AL) nice to see your true colours to name one.... I didnt realise you could not post photos if not a member......

I havent replied before this because i have been on the road all day (riding a motorcycle around australia) the first year i have not taken my 4x4 and i am missing the four wheels at the moment......

The reason it needs to be only a 2005 - 2006 4.2litre diesel 105 series standard landcruiser is because it needs to be the model with the attempt at anti-polution...

My cruiser when i first bought it gave me 15-16 litres per 100 no matter what,, then a friend who works for toyota was sitting behind me one day as i was going up long hills and saw the smoke and told me to re-route the hoses in a different fashion and it will reduce smoke under load, increase power and also give better fuel economy.....

I made these changes and now the fuel economy is constantly 14litres per 100 dead, the smoke has decreased a lot and maybe gained about quarter of a gear more power....

All you do is take the vacuum hose off the module which is on the manifold and block off both ends,,, end of story...
I just thought photos would help with my lack of explaination expertise...

I am blown away by the change....

I have increased my range by at least 200kms per fuel load which is 270litres..

Now for free you gotta admit it is worthwhile...

To the few people that gave me a go, cheers.

Sorry Been-Everywhereman if I offended you. I simply said that you asked ..."does anyone out there" etc. then after 7 minutes signed off. You could have posted then the text that you finally did a couple of days later.

Anyway mate, your explanation is interesting. Some of these emission control arrangements seem to have more effect on performance than they did on emission reduction.

Cheers

It sounds like you have blocked the EGR which is not just year specific as my 2003 HZJ105 has it as well.

It is an illegal mod as well but lots do it.
