Not sure if this is the right
forum to ask this , but here goes.
My wife and I are leaving
Townsville in the 2nd week of Aug (8th) for six weeks and are travelling the Plenty Hwy &
Gary Junction Rd via Alice through to
Kunawarritji and on to the Rudall NP. From there we intend to the Karijini NP and then down to
Meekatharra,
Laverton and on to the
Great Central Road,
Yulara and back into QLD via the Simpson to
Birdsville.
We are experienced outback travellers with and have travelled most of these areas before. Our Veh is a 95 80 series TD with 200 ltr Diesel and 50 lpg internal capacity and HF comms.
We are both in our early 50's and enjoy travelling this great country and would like the company of a like minded couple or others with a capable vehicle and attitude to share the experience with.
Like all plans should be, we are flexible and also don't necessarily need company all the time but there is security & safety in numbers especially when travelling in very remote areas."

We may cross paths, am leaving
Brisbane end of July,
Birdsville across Simpson to A/S then Ayers
Rock.
It should be 2nd week August then and heading west Docker River and up to
Gary Junction and
well 33 (
Kunawarritji), down CSR a bit, and west on to
Newman, Port H, and a stroll down the west coast, have 8 weeks.
I need to be at
Newman 3rd week August. 105 series, 290 litres diesel, Tvan, 50's couple, kids left at
home this time. :o)

Hi Clarkie, i am also looking for someone to travel across the Simpson with this year. I was planning to leave
Townsville on 30th August and head West from
Birdsville after the races on 4th September. Like you i am happy to change plans too. I could do
the desert from West to East but i want to be in
Birdsville for the 1st September. I am mid 50's and have a 2006 Cruiser Wagon and
Kimberley Kamper.
Let me know what you think. Maybe we should catch up for a beer, as it looks like we are both in
Townsville.
