Hi
No it can’t, but apparently a version is planned, presumably once work on fine tuning the Android version (now out) becomes less onerous.

Note: we are talking OziCe here. It appears there are no plans to make OziExplorer for anything other than Windows by the looks??
Cheers

You can get a version of VMS to run on the iPad. I have it on the iPad2 and it looks useful.

You mean the link I provided:)
Yes its up to version 1.05 after only 4 days. As I said, once the Beta Android version "stabilises" the Ozi crew may then have time to concentrate on other versions.
Cheers

Craig
I run all my Oz2f maps (Hema Maps, Westprint, NSW and VIC 1:100,000) using Bitmap.
For 1:250,000 I use Memory-Map. You can download for free all the regions you want at this resolution.
I just switch between Bitmap and MM.
The iPad is the perfect size for navigation, and has replaced all the computers, touch screens, external displays, USB GPSs etc that I used to need. The mount sticks to the window and I plug it into the cigarette lighter.
I should sell all my old WinCE and Windows gear before it becomes laughably outdated.

This matter has been driving me mad!
Is your GPS reception ok in remote areas without 3G reception, etc?
Do you need the iPad mounted on your dashboard for gps reception?
What mount did u use?
I have been a passionate OziExplorer user with Hema Navigator backed up by a 7" 'chinese' tablet running Windows CE and Oziexplorer.
You are saying that u would give these the flick?

Here we go again :-)
You need the 3G version of the ipad to get the gps chip but you don't need 3G or any mobile signal to get gps reception. You also need the maps installed on the ipad before you leave
home or you will have nothing to look at.

Thanks Mike, but what I was more interested in is whether I can import my existing .wpt and .rte files into BitMap.

In Ozi on your computer you need to convert them to kml files. Then I think they will come into Bit Map. Bit Map is great at doing simple things like reading the Ozi formatted maps and showing your track in live time, but it has nowhere near the functionality of even Ozi CE. At $4.95 that's not a problem :-) Mike
