Hi, Going to the west again this year and tired of same old routes. Wonder about taking the road from Dunmarra to Top Springs and then north to the Victoria Hwy. LCTD towing a standard 20' caravan. Anyone familiar with that road? I would appreciate your advice. Trip would be in about 4 weeks.

We travelled that way about a year ago. Road was pretty good, but of course will depend on when the grader last saw it. From VRD to the Victoria Hwy is very scenic, Jasper Gorge, and has some nice camping spots. I wouldn't think under average conditions that towing a caravan sensibly would be a problem.

We did that trip back in Sept, the road wasn't too bad, would have been OK for a caravan back then but don't know that I can help you now after rain etc up there. We didn't tow up there. Recommend Top Springs, was lovely and refreshing on a hot day.

Cheers

I travel thru there regularly for work, it is fine as long as you take it easy. It can be a bit hard on tyres but is worth it specially on the western end past VRD
