Is anyone going to brave the current forecast to get away over the long weekend. We have plans with a large group of people to head out about 200kms from Brisbane but many people are having second thoughts. Some “experts” say it’s mainly going to bucket down around the coastal areas. I would hate to sit under a tarp with 5 little kids all day long.

A bit frustraded with all this since it got planned so long ago. What is your forecast?

It doesn't look great but yes, worse on the coast.

We're in the same boat... we've booked 5 days camping at Double Island Point and are leaning towards cancelling the trip.

Most forecasts I've seen are for heavy rain Saturday and Sunday and probably Monday, I've been checking the internet all day hoping for a sudden change in the forecast!

Good luck.

Hi,

All the models show heavy rain towards the coast so you migt be in for a fun trip.

We went camping over the last long weekend and the forecast was for 90% chance rain and it did rain but it was all over in 30 min.

At the end they are only forecast but this time all sites are kind of saying the same thing.

Stay dry

might be heading out Stanthorpe way to Sundown Nat. Park, weatherzone forecast has 90% chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday.
not sure how we'll go with access in and out if that happens as i know they closed the road in last time it rained there. think i'll give the ranger a call tomorrow and see what they say about why they closed the road last time.

But the cold as well as rain and probably wind. The heated house sounds more appealing with kids. We were going to take the dirt bikes out for a couple of days, after today's temps i am chickening out.

Well if the weather turns to crap, you can always spend some money at the Caravan & Camping Show.

Cheers
