Anyone been fishing Fraser Isl Qld in the past few weeks ??
I'm wondering what's running up there at the moment at the north end beaches.
We'll be up there in the next couple of weeks and wondering what rods & gear to take.
Any thoughts ??
Tight lines . . . .

Been reading a few of the SE qld fishing sites and the reports coming in so far indicate that the
tailor are still in Northern NSW and haven't really hit the
gold coast as yet. So I'd probably rub
tailor out as your main target. There will be the odd resident
tailor there though and they will be the bigger models but be prepared to put in the hours for them.
You should get plenty of the usual Dart & whiting from the gutters and there should be a few bream & tarwhine around.
A trip over to the western side is always worthwhile targeting flatties.
So based on the above I'd be taking the light surf rod and a soft plastics rod for the flatties. I'd still take a heavier rod and some pillies just in case, you might pick up that big
tailor or maybe even a nice surf jew.

Thanks for that info. Nothing better than a big surf jewy in the early evening. Might take a bit of squid in the pack and the rod to handle them.
Any beach worm or pippie spots along the east side ??
