Hi
I have been considering getting one of these and concerting it to a camper van, has anyone had any experience with one of these? Is there 4wd system any good ie; Subaru stranded or better. The main use would be on outback dirt roads etc..
Comments and thoughts would be appreciated.

THe VW 4wd system is by a Haldex clutch system which according to the brochure I have directs the drive to the wheel with the best traction.
I have just bought a Passat TDI with Bluemotion.
This will be a bit of a new experience as when you stop and hold the brakes on the engine stops till you release them.
Saves fuel according to them.

My neighbour on the next property has these in single and crew cabs. If they cant get around the wet paddocks we cant in the 4wd utes. I'm pretty sure they have coils all round and ride and drive on the dirt beautifully. If you look at the chassis rails on the crew cab they are no worries about bending them. I think a crew cab with a canopy on the back would make an ideal touring rig getting you to most
places quickly comfortable and economically.
