Every year we head off June long weekend and do a 4WD weekend with around 10 cars. Last year we went to
Warraweena (excellent) this year we have just done
Mount Ive in the
Gawler Ranges. We are looking for somewhere for next year. We like a bit of an adventure and the tracks need to have challenges in them. Needs also to accomodate around 40 - 50 people. If anyone has any ideas would love to hear from you.

If you want a real challenge & lots of adventure come over to the Victorian High Country. Makes the tracks around the Flinders &
Gammon Ranges look tame & boring in comparison. Plenty of options for group accomodation too from camping, alpine lodges, cabins & bunkhouses.
Just had the Jeep Club Muster over the Long Weekend based in the
Mansfield area & with nearly 100 people & 17 different trips rated from 2wd to double black extreme over 4 days there was something for everyone within 15 minutes of
camp.
Cheers Craig...........

"why don't you put one together for us in that area?"
Being a member of four 4x4 groups I'm already a bit over-committed but would be more than happy to recommend possible tracks & campsites to anyone heading to the High Country.
Cheers Craig...........

Hi CMB, I assume you are from
Adelaide like me. The
Bendleby Ranges is an great place to go for a long weekend and only 3 hours away (50ks due nth of
Orroroo). There are some great secluded campsites and the Oval site will accomodate large groups. The 4wd tracks are very good and the Billy Goat Ridge track will challange you for sure.

I would second that. I've been there twice. For photos see
here or
here.
It is a bit pricey compared with some
places though.

Argadells Station just north of
Quorn has some good camping spots and nice driving.
See
here for some photos from
easter.
There are several camping areas that will easily fit your group.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Pete,
I reckon the Plumed Pigeon is a ring in, or did you see one there? I live in the area and have never seen one here.
Cheers
Graham

It was there. It came and visited us at our lunch stop. Not sure where - I would have to look at the original.
