I think I may have a problem with my pump, it works but it seems to be sucking in air as the water that comes out of the shower rose is sputtering, not a constant flow of water. All the plumbing has been checked and are tight.

Is there a valve kit available ?

You could try Whitworths boat chandlery for parts, they also have an online store you could look up to see if they can help you

Hi Treading Lightly, I am a plumber.
Have you tried just turning on all taps and letting the pump run for a while? Then turn off each tap that runs properly. Often people forget to flush the draw bar tap and if air is in the system it causes your problem. if you had air leaking in you would have an obvious leak some where. The problem is that air is compressible and causes surging in the line.
Check again that all tanks are full as well. Make sure that water is flowing out off the return line to the filling point at the finish of the fill. Some times people see a spurt of water come out off the overflow and assume the tank is full.

Hi Treading Lightly,
If there is an inlet filter on your pump you may find that it is full of debris .. left in the tank during construction, or just an accumulation of small stones from your usual water supply.
Cheers,

Hi Guys,

The Pump is only being used to supply water for the shower. It is drawn up from a water supply (bucket) and then plumbed into a heat exchanger (Twine) and then into a shower rose. I have checked all connections and the filter is clean.

As the pump is leaking I am suspecting that the pump is the culprit.

On the end of the pump is a plastic square shaped cover held on by one screw. Remove this cover and there will be another screw. This is the pressure adjusting screw. I can't remember if you screw in or out to reduce the output pressure.
I had the same problem with mine and I found that when I reduced the pressure by adjusting this screw it works a treat. The cutting in and out is the pump switching on and off quickly. It is because the pump builds up to the cut out pressure and switches off. This happens rapidly. If you reduce the pressure you will rectify the pulsating effect and ultimately reduce the amount of water you go through when showering.
When the inlet filter blocks up the output is slowed right down.
Try adjusting the pressure screw.

Scott
