Took a fully restored International AS148 Table Top truck for a run yesterday. ,Talk about memories flooding back..as we used to own one to carry a tractor and slasher around contracting, It was a credit to the owner as to the restoration of this old girl, but could not get my head around the change to the modern truck of the same size......lol....Peering through a big steering wheel, Looooong brake pedal, Not to mention half a turn on the wheel each way to keep her straight, But they where the greatest thing in their day and where reliable to a point, I guess like everything else what you didn't have you didn't miss...lol, We continue to march forward with everything thats for sure.

Gday Axle
What I liked about that model was , you could take the bonnet off when working in the engine bay . They bring back old memories.

Hi Axle, the old trucks, and other old machinery for that matter, are always a pleasure to look at. I have been to a couple of heritage truck shows at Beenleigh and Jandowan woolsheds. I got my "B" class licence in WA in 1973 in a J2 bedford, Dad also owned a J5 K700 ford, thames trader (which was the same as a k700) then he bought a new kgl bedford. Did a lot of miles in them all except the thames trader using "armstrong" power steering even took the kgl out on the canning stock route carting drum fuel for Ray Geo.
Cheers
