Hi Guys,
we are going to do
Katherine Gorge tours.
My 80yo Grandma is coming too. She is not great on her feet.
She can still get around but her knees aren't flash. She can still do lawn bowls. :)
I really am wanting to do the 3
gorge tour.
I am after
feedback as to how she would go?
She would not climb up to the
water hole at the end of the 3rd
gorge.
So apart from that, what is the difference in walking between the 2
gorge tour and the 3
gorge tour?
What are we missing out on by just doing the 2
gorge tour?
Oh by the way, we will also have a 12mth girl with us too!
Any
feedback greatly appreciated
Cheers

G'day Clint and Chell,
We are living at
Mataranka at the moment and went up to
the gorge about 2 weeks. We done the 2
gorge tour and the walk would of been about 300m at a guess there were a few steps but all in all it was a pretty easy walk. There were 2 sections where there was still water over the path and there were sand bags put in place as stepping stones but the level may have dropped. as for the tour itself i think the 2
gorge tour was great. Hope that helps
cheers

Hi Clint & Chell,
The 2
gorge cruise should be achievable by
young and older without too many dramas.
Should your pockets be a little deeper consider the dinner cruise, which is essentially the 1
gorge tour in the evening with a meal included. You do get to walk into the sencond
gorge should you wish. A chopper flight over the gorges is also pretty special.
Cheers, AllanK

Hi Clint & Chell,
Took my 80yo mother on that trip about 5 years ago (she's now 86) she certainly made it alright the only thing was she was concentrating on whether she would make the walk rather than enjoying the Gorges, the walks were easy and I would suggest not making it a issue with your Grandma as she may see it the same way as my Mum.
Regards
Graham

Good idea Graham. I agree.
Thanks for your
feedback everyone.
You've given me a lot more confidence giving it a go with Grandma.
Cheers Clint
