I think you will find that Nissan have no interest in "grey imports".

Hi Shaker

I have a vague memory of it being road tested once by RACV , they considered it an under rated car , so I thought they may have once been sold here , maybe someone can confirm.

Bit of advice in thread 41244 also.

The only Terrano sold new in Australia was the Terrano II, in both diesel & petrol. It was sold here with Pathfinder badging in almost poverty pack form.
The 2.7 TDI diesel version would have to be one of the most under-rated vehicles in Australia.

Steven,

I've got the translation at home, so I can email to you but not until after the weekend. What's your email?

AT switch
"AT" = Standard;
"power" = as with most cars' power switches, it provides a little more power, probably by staying in gear longer and perhaps letting the transmission slip a little.
"hold" - reduces power by switching up a gear earlier and limiting slip in the transmission. For use on slipery surfaces like snow and maybe sand. Most new european and japanese cars have this switch indicated with a snowflake.

Suspension
Touring/sports suspension switch will only work if you have the original shock absorbers on the car. If you look at them there is a wire that is connected to them at the top. From memory "touring" gives soft suspension and "sports" gives hard suspension. To check if it works, set it to touring, get a friend to rock the car. While they're rocking it, switch to "sports." There is a very noticable difference between the two.

I would have thought 'HOLD' would have meant that it would hold in the selected gear for steep descents.

No, I tried that and it made no difference on steep descents.

I think it's called "hold" because if you press the accelarator it holds the gear you're in without dropping down, to prevent wheelspin.

Steven,

I haven't forgotten about your fuse box diagram translation. I couldn't find it on my computer at home, so I'll have to search for it on my archived disks.
Don't worry, I'll get there.

Terano's are basically a left handed Pathfinder.
Have you tried the pathfinder Manual ?

Before you go to great expense, you may find an electronic copy on the Net.

Basically they could be classed as a Pathfinder Version 4/5th

That's what I an getting at
Neighbour across the road had one, and if he needed parts ect, he would always startwith Parthfinder stuff, and 8 times out of 10 he would get what he was after.
They are quiet a good little jigger
A real shame they never really took off here.
Cheers Bucky

Right. Body parts from the Pathfinder and engine parts from the d21 navara is what always worked for me.

They didn't take off because our government stopped grey imports to protect the local car dealers.
